Pathway to A Dream Career: Jeannette Riquelhme’s Experience at OMA

Do you want to become a makeup artist, but don't know where to start? Do you dream of learning how to create amazing makeup looks for yourself? Then we invite you to think about joining our courses! First of all, we want to share the experience of studying from our Advanced Makeup Course student Jeannette Riquelhme.

We are sure that this blog will inspire you to finally start your way towards achieving your dreams, too!

Before starting her studies at our academy, Jeannette already had several certifications under her belt. She decided not to stop, and continue to improve her artistry (one of the most important elements of a professional Makeup Artist is keeping your work current and updated and pursuing as much education as possible!). How did Jeannette start her journey with Online Makeup Academy?

Despite the fact that on the Advanced Course you will learn advanced professional techniques including creating looks for editorial photography, television, film, high fashion, and creative makeup, there are no strict limits here — all of our students are absolutely free in creativity! Jeannette notes this too, talking about her general impressions of studying at OMA.

During the course, our students receive one-on-one instructions with our professional Makeup Artist tutors who are directly involved within the industry. What was Jeannette's experience with our mentors?

It is a great honor, joy and inspiration for us to receive such amazing feedback about our team’s work! Jeannette's passion for learning and makeup was also noted by our tutor Alena: "Lately she's creating so many interesting looks, like this one for example."

Among the 7 modules of the course, Jeannette especially highlights the 3rd module dedicated to period makeup. In this module, students learn everything about creating a 1920's look, 1930's Great Gatsby look, and the Twiggy inspired 1960’s look.

Check out the amazing work she has created during the completion of her course.

Most people may be concerned about the question: how is it possible to practice your skills in online courses? The answer is simple — you can find models, you can create makeup on yourself or on your friends and family! Jeannette told in detail how she went through the process of working on assignments.

Jeannette is inspired by editorial and high fashion makeup. She loves to experiment with products and try things that many have probably never done before! Her courage and desire for discovery of the new inspires us endlessly! Just look at her work!

A portfolio for a makeup artist is their work, which provides indispensable assistance in finding clients. Our academy trains professional makeup artists, so we pay special attention to portfolio building. In the Advanced Makeup Course, there is a strong focus on advanced content creation and portfolio building. We highly encourage our students to use the course assignments to build their professional portfolio.

What are Jeannette's plans after finishing the course? She admits that during the course, her thoughts have changed!

“Stay motivated, be persistent, study before submission and don't be too critical of yourself,” — Jeannette gives really valuable advice to those who are just planning to enroll in OMA.

We thank Jeannette for this interview and for sharing with everyone her experience of learning at our Online Makeup Academy! We believe that your talent, passion for makeup, perfectionism and the way you wholeheartedly relate to this business will bring you incredible success! We are happy that amazing people like Jeannette choose to enroll at OMA, and to trust us with their dream and are ready to work hard with us towards making their dreams a reality!
