Let's find out how the story of this talented makeup artist began.

At a young age Burton’s parents realized that he had a natural artistic talent, so they enrolled him in after school art classes. This is where LeBlanc discovered his artistic side and his natural abilities and talents came through. As an adult, he researched makeup schools that catered to film and television in particular, enrolling in the acclaimed Joe Blasco Makeup Center in Orlando, Florida.

Working for many years in the industry has taught Burton to stay focused and always be ‘on it’ and knowing exactly what’s going on around you on set and being there for the actors is the top calling card of your job. “Take it seriously, but still have fun and have a lighter side when you can. Always stay on top of things in the industry and your art. Researching products, new makeup products and having mentors when starting out in the industry is huge”, — he says.

When talking about Burton’s works he mentions The Handmaid’s Tale makeup is all about realism and keeping their looks contemporary: “I didn’t want the viewers to be distracted by the makeup. Always keeping it real whether they are in Gilead or in flashbacks pre-Gilead”.

The Makeup and Hairstylist Guild Award that Burton LeBlanc won for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” was a career highlight — being recognized by makeup industry peers in Local 706 - L.A. is amazing! “I have been nominated for 3 more MUAHS and also 2 Emmy nominations. It just pushes me to keep on doing great work. My goals would be just to continue to do amazing work and be inspired by other amazing artists”.

His advice for a beginner makeup artist? “Know exactly what you want to accomplish, set some goals and stay focused. Be and stay healthy — body, mind and spirit!”
